I have a King James Bible more than 100 years old, full of woodcut engravings. It is a monster size Bible. The binding and cover has come apart, but the paper and stitching seem sound. Would your binder be interested in rebinding it for me. Thickness is about 3.5 inches, and dimensions are slightly larger than 8.5 by 11 inches. These numbers are rough estimates, can get precise numbers tomorrow. I bought the Jungle Book from Castalia and was extremely impressed with the binding and cover work, I believe Castalia would do the work with a suitably high quality.
We now use a pigskin leather that is even higher quality than the cowhide you've got, so yes, I'm reasonably confident we could meet your expectations.
Hi Vox, I emailed you at your gmail address, and also at the castalia payments address on July 23. Can you confirm if either of those received the emails? I sent you the photos and dimensions of the 1873 King James Bible.
Ok, I have sent the dimensions and photos to payments@castalia The Bible appears to be from 1873 or sometime after. Couldn't find a page that showed the printing date.
I have looked at the Easton Press Lord of the Rings leather set and while it is not too expensive, it just is not beautiful. I don't know who designed those covers but they were an odd choice.
This is an excellent idea.
I second that emotion. Just brilliant and prescient. Well done.

Email us some pictures, but that sounds doable.

I'm on the road for the next day, will send photos and measurements when I return.
Amazing.
I am so excited to hear this! I will reach out.
this is so cool - a great offering!
That is a really cool idea. The perfect gift idea for the book lover, that's for sure.
Volumes 9 and 10 of the Junior classics? Please.

Awesome.
Wow what a cool idea! Now we'll be keeping an eye out for good candidates in our book collecting. Nothing comes to mind at the moment though.
Definitely interested in a hard-back leather-bound of Lord of the Rings. My paper-backs fell apart years ago.
I second that. I would also be interested in leather-bound LotR.
