"In Bohemia the new military departure was the result of social and religious convulsions. A gallant nation had risen in arms, stirred at once by outraged patriotism and by spiritual zeal; moved by a desire to drive the intruding German beyond the Erzgebirge, but moved even more by dreams of universal brotherhood, and of a kingdom of righteousness to be established by the sword. All Bohemia was ready to march, but still it was not apparent how the overwhelming strength of Germany was to be met."

Hmmm. Sounds familiar.

Brilliant analysis of how Zisca turned logistical assets into tactical weapons. The wagon fort concept is underrated in military history since it solved the fundamental asymmetry problem facing peasant levies against heavy cavalry without requiring years of training. What's clever is how the system scaled, the waggon as organizational unit meant commanders could maneuver formations at the company level rather than trying to corral massive undifferentiated mobs. The early adoption of hangunners is also telling cause it shows Zisca understood combined arms wasn't just about mixing weapon types but about creating mutually reinforcing systems where each element's weakness gets covered by another's strenght.
